Here's my draft candidate profile statement for the Central Lakes Trust. I've included the photo of Disputed Spur Road (from my Flickr site - it's my copyrighted photo) because it also appears in the rolling banner on the CLT's web page! Good on them, but there's no attribution!

A few weeks ago I was an invited speaker at a cafe scientifique in the Hutton Theatre at Otago Museum. The topic was lignite mining in Central Otago. The 4-member panel was me, a poet (Brian Turner, of Oturehua, Central Otago), a consultant geologist (Barry Douglas, New Zealand's expert on lignite geology), and a lobbyist from Straterra. Here are my talking points.
